CHILDREN'S EVENTS!
We hold children's storytimes every Saturday & Sunday at 2pm & even more frequently in the holidays. See the events listings below to find out what we will be reading this week! Stories are always followed by colouring, treasure hunts or other exciting activities.
Are you a school teacher, Brownie or Cubs leader or part of any other children's group? If you would like to bring your children to the store for a storytime & a tour, or have Borders visit your school for an event & bring a book stall then do not hesitate to get in touch!

In fact, she feels almost invisible to the world. Except, of course, when she's in her bedroom. There she becomes lead singer with the biggest and best band in the world. But things are about to change - Tallulah is about to step out of her imagination and her bedroom and into the real world. She and her brilliant band are about to take the school talent contest and more by storm.

Cartimandua- Queen of the Brigantes -Nicki Howarth Signing 11:00 am, Sat 15th Nov 2008
This is the first major study of Cartimandua, queen of the Brigantes tribe in Northern Britain in the first century AD. Little is known about the tribal ruler, who fought off rebellion and civil war and managed to keep her lands when many other British leaders were forfeiting theirs in the aftermath of the Roman conquest of AD 43. Her story is one of power, intrigue, scandal and accusations of betrayal and yet surprisingly she is a figure who is often overlooked and marginalised in studies of British history.
