RUTH "THE TRUTH" URQUHART: Chat Magazine Psychic Ruth The Truth Urquhart invites you to an evening talk on the subject of the psychic world.  This will include her work as Britain's only psychic agony aunt, how to access your own psychic powers and finally Ruth's very own tales of the supernatural.  Come along for a fun-filled informative night with this lovable psychic.  Ruth will be in store on Wednesday 30 July from 7pm-0:30pm.  Tickets for this event are limited and priced at £5.  Tickets are available from the tills at our store.

BILL PATERSON: The much loved Scots actor was brought up in post-war Britain, when children could play happily in their own back garden...  Now in his fantastic autobiography "Tales from the Back Green" he writes about growing up in Glasgow's east end.  Meet him in store on Wednesday 27 August between 4pm and 5pm as he signs copies of his autobiography.

BEANO 70TH ANNIVERSARY: Join us on Saturday 2nd August to celebrate 70 years of Scotland's favourite comic The Beano.  We'll be having Beano fun in store at 2pm in the afternoon, where we can draw our favourite Beano characters and join in some Beano quizzes... with special Beano prizes to be won!
 

GAME: We welcome GAME to our store: they are located on the 1st floor in store and have all your latest PSP, Wii, etc games and consoles.

CHRISTOPHER BROOKMYRE: will be in store on Thurs 11 September at 6:30pm talking and signing his new book "Snowball in Hell" (publ 14 August).  Christopher is a Sunday Times bestselling author and is the only writer to have received two Sherlock awards.  This event will be free but ticketed, and tickets will be available in store.

THIS WEEK'S FANTASTIC HALF PRICE OFFERS :  Comic legend and Hollywood star Steve Martin  pens his memoir on his time in stand-up comedy and tells why he walked away from the limelight of the stage in "Born Standing Up". Katie Price is back with "Angel Uncovered" and Jaems Patterson is back with another thriller in "The Quickie". These are half price for a limited time only so get them while you can.

STORY-TIME on Saturdays and Sundays: we've moved story-time to a brand new time of 11am... so start your weekend with a story in our children's department! PARENT AND TODDLER GROUP: join us on Friday mornings at 11am for toddler story time.  Listen to a couple of toddler friendly stories before settling upstairs for a coffee and a chance to chat and make new friends.

ADULT BOOK GROUP: Join us on the first Thursday of every month at 6:30 in Starbucks for our book group.  Throughout July they are reading "Notes from an Exhibition" by Patrick Gale.  All are welcome to come along on the night.

TOYS AND GAMES: If you think we're all about books, then you're wrong we have some of the newest, best and classic toys and games in store.  these are all located in the queueing area of our store: look out for games from Scrabble to Trivial Pursuit, Rubik's Cubes to Travel Games,  from Pokemon to YuGiOh cards, and perfect gifts from Name a Star to the amazing Momiji dolls.

Books of the Month:  July is here and so is a bumper crop of new books for the month... If you love the truill of a good crime novel then we have "Line of Vision" by David Ellis.David Benioff brings us  "City of Thieves" for our fiction title. To entertain the children this month Joseph Theobald tells us why "Marvin gets mad". Gabor Steingart investigates "The war for wealth".
